Welcome to our consultation website to showcase Freebridge Community Housing’s plans for the next phases of the Hillington Square redevelopment
The regeneration of the estate has been ongoing since 2012 and to date has delivered 190 apartments in four refurbished blocks. We now want to complete the award-winning project started with Hemmingway Design.
Initial proposals for the redevelopment of the remaining parts of Hillington Square were refused planning permission by King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council in 2021.
Since this time Freebridge Community Housing has expanded the design team in order to deliver an improved Hillington Square. We believe the new plans address the concerns raised previously by residents, planners and elected members at the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West
Norfolk.
The new scheme seeks to refurbish Vicarage and Farrow House and redevelop the residential blocks known as Chestnut, Aitken and Norris House as well as the Providence Street Community Centre to the rear of Hillington Square.
We held a public consultation in May 2022 and gained valuable feedback on our plans.
Our plans have since evolved following feedback from council officers and the local community and we are now pleased to present our final scheme which has been submitted to King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council.
